Being offered is a circa 1958 sterling silver bracelet by Antonio Pineda of Taxco, Mexico, the master of silver and modernist design. The bracelet speaks for itself. Good weight.
The bracelet measures 2 1/4" on the inside when latched and 3 1/2" on the outside edge when latched. Marked. In excellent condition.

There was a comprehensive exhibition of Pineda's work recently at the Fowler Museum in Los Angeles exhibition -- more than 200 examples -- and illuminating survey of remarkable jewelry designs. Known for his bold designs and ingenious use of gemstones, Pineda's extraordinary talent and creative vision are evident in his sensual jewelry and outstanding hollowware and tableware.


The Fowler Museum exhibition traced the evolution of Pineda's work from the 1930s to the 1970s and highlights his important contributions to Mexican modernism as well as to the creation of a Mexican artistic national identity
